“Don’t keep your goodness in your pockets.”
– a Yiddish proverb
In celebration of our 36th anniversary, Sunday, April 23, will be Yom Chesed, a day devoted to learning, spirituality and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world). We will join together as a congregation and spread chesed (loving kindness) throughout Northern Virginia. Our community can do so much good in the world together. Don’t keep that goodness to yourself!
The day will include learning, praying and doing. Hands and minds will work together on Yom Chesed, the embodiment of a full Jewish experience. In this way, we’ll connect what we’re doing with why we’re doing it!
We have created a Yom Chesed catalog that spells out our schedule for the day, plus descriptions for each of the collections underway and activities planned. We’re undertaking seven collections and 15 activities benefitting 16 community organizations! You can find the catalog of activities here.
We’re asking you to please register for lunch and your activity choice no later than Friday, April 14. This will give us enough time to organize our collections and make final arrangements for the day. Please register here. |
