Oneg Duty

Every Friday night after services an oneg of light refreshments is available in the social hall. Temple members share the responsibility of setting up and clearing Friday night oneg Shabbats. Typically three members (or member families) are assigned each Shabbat. Given the size of our congregation, members can expect to be asked to support our community in this way approximately one Friday night every other year.

The procedures for setting up and clearing the oneg are simple. Cookies and desserts arrive on trays from the caterers. Soda and water need to be put in the refrigerator to cool down, and some nights coffee needs to be made. All supplies needed for the oneg are in the cabinets in the kitchen. Detailed instructions are posted on the bulletin board in the kitchen. Please plan to arrive at the Temple by 7:20 pm on your designated Friday night.
